Open garden

STECS Member Christine Ellwood has kindly opened her garden to visitors to raise funds for STECS. The garden is open every Wednesday and Friday between 9am and 3pm, May to September.

Both Christine and her 3 year old Scottie Harris welcome all visitors both two legged and four legged to Christine’s wonderful garden at ‘Blackburn’ in Cumbria.

The garden is on a tourist route and overlook’s  Derwentwater in Borrowdale and is situated on the Catbells mountains. Brackburn is the former home of Sir Hugh Walpole who wrote the ‘Herries Chronicals’.

The garden is terraced and has several water features along with an an array of beautiful blooms including Rhodes and Azaleas. The gardens feature a spectacular ‘Box Bush Scottie’ which is not to be missed. The garden is also Scottie proof.

Open every Wednesday and Friday, 9am to 3pm from May to September.
