Lungworm

The life-threatening lungworm. A.vasorum is carried by slugs and snails. If your Scottie comes into contact with these common garden pests there is a risk it could become infected. This is a problem that is becoming more widespread in the UK. Sometimes dogs become infected by eating a slug or snail that is on it’s bone.

Symptoms:

  • Breathing problems, coughing or easily tired.
  • Poor blood clotting leading to excessive bleeding
  • from minor wounds, bleeding nose or eyes.
  • Seizures, spinal pain weight loss vomiting.
